Meeting for Worship - Sundays at 10AM

About Us

Welcome!

Newtown Square Friends Meeting, in Delaware County PA,  has been an active Quaker Meeting for over 300 years. We believe that every person is loved by the Divine Spirit. There are Quakers of all ages, religious backgrounds, races, education, political parties, sexual orientations, gender identities, and stages of life. When we come together in w orship, it is to:
  • Listen to, know, and be known by God;
  • Grow in our faith;
  • Be changed;
  • Support each other in worship.
Our time together looks like:
  • Sitting quietly, with awareness of the Divine Spirit, usually for one hour;
  • listening if someone is moved by the Spirit to speak;
  • Shaking hands when worship ends; and greeting those around us in fellowship.
Friends are advised to place God, not themselves, in the center of the universe and, in all aspects of inward life and outward activity, to keep themselves open to the healing power of the Spirit of Christ. - Faith and Practice

This week's query or advice

Quakers use queries or questions and advice that can help guide personal and/or group reflection on how our lives and actions are shaped by Love and Truth. The emphasis is on how to live a life more completely aligned with the life of the spirit.

We fail to see God, not from want of light, but from want of spiritual vision.
